Daria Faïn: Teaching Biography
Daria Faïn is an internationally award-winning choreographer, dancer, and theater director who has integrated over 40 years of deep practice in Chinese energetics and bodymind disciplines into her creative work.
1982–1995: Foundational Studies in Europe & the U.S.
1982–1984 (Paris, France): Faïn began her journey into bodymind practices and Chinese energetics under the instruction of Master Karfung Wu, studying acupuncture principles, Qigong, Tai Chi, nutrition, and Taoist philosophy.
1984–1986 (United States): She traveled to the U.S. to further her career as a dancer and choreographer.
1986–1993 (France): Upon returning to France, she spent seven years studying under Dr. Jen, an acupuncturist, herbalist, and martial artist from the Shaolin Lineage. During this period, she also spent two years studying Chinese mental energetics with Francisco Albuquerque.
1990: Faïn graduated and was certified as an Alexander Technique teacher.
1996–2015: Advanced Taoist Training & Research
1996: She relocated permanently to the United States and began her extensive studies with Master Mantak Chia until 2018.
2001: She received her full instructor certification from the Universal Healing Tao. Over the years, she continued her training with Master Chia, earning further certifications in Dao Yin, Tan Tien Qigong, Tai Chi, and Iron Shirt.
2010: The Universal Healing Tao invited Faïn to present her research at the Tao Garden in Thailand. In honor of Master Chia’s birthday, she presented a specialized darkroom project that she co-created with a collaborator in New York City.
Internal Martial Arts: Faïn also dedicated five years to studying Qigong, Bagua, and Wu-style Tai Chi with Frank Allen.
2016–Present: Current Practices & C O R E M O T I O N
2016: Faïn founded C O R E M O T I O N, a certification program based on her unique approach to Chinese energetics and bodymind practices. The methodology incorporates Qigong and applies the principles of Chinese energetics to daily life and the creative process.
Ongoing Studies: Since 2016, she has been studying Tibetan Buddhism with Lama Tsultrim and Adzom Gyalse Rinpoche. Additionally, she has spent the past year and a half studying Classical Chinese with Sabine Wilms to read foundational Taoist texts in their original language.
